Meet Jennyfer Ewube who plays the role of Narnia Ruth. Head of special forces dispatched on the mission to recover a special “package “. Narnia is a combination of discipline, honour and responsibility and yet a woman who has succumbed to the fact that her husband will never change from being the opposite of all she holds as principles. In effect, she finds some sort of balance in these two contradicting elements in her life. So, at work she is the no-nonsense hardworking leader (no compromise) and at home, she can just be a partner which comes with compromising: meeting her husband half way or going all the way.
Ewube is a Cameroonian singer, song writer and performer. Dubbed "queen of dancehall", she has been able to make dancehall one of the household sounds in Cameroon, carving out a space for other dancehall artistes. Her versatility in uniquely delivering on many other genres like afro-pop, afro-beat, rnb and even soul music makes her a fully rounded artist and vocalist. Very particular about her artistry and her ability to deliver her art and sound in English, French, and pidgin English, Ewube is well on her way to acquiring a larger audience and taking her music global.

Ewube enrolled into the university in 2012 majoring in economics. Not until her second year was, she approached by a friend Slimbeatz (who had seen a lot of potential in her from earlier on) to think of starting a music career after haven worked with him on a couple of projects as a backup singer. She was invited for a studio session this time for her own music and recorded her first ever official single written by her and produced by Slimbeatz, under the label best music Inc. in august 2013. Ewube is not only known as queen of dancehall in Cameroon but as the most powerful vocalist of the country and an excellent live performer. With a flourishing music career full of highlights and braved odds, Ewube jumped to the opportunity to explore another side of her talent (acting) which has been a dream since childhood;
“For the longest time, from when I was maybe 9 or 10 years old, I wanted to be an actress. I saw myself in movies way before I saw myself on stage singing. I was highly inspired by Genevieve Nnaji. I remember she was the only reason I’d rent a DVD. I even organised small dramas at home. Giving roles to my sisters, wearing my mom’s or aunt’s high heeled shoes and start acting out university student roles”.
“L’Axe Lourd is my first ever project as an actress and it is most exciting and challenging at the-same time. Yes, I’ve acted in-front of the camera but as an artist and for a 2 to 4-minute music video. I got into this project because of the Director Dr Nkeng Stephens because I’ve worked with him on so many projects and even seen some of his short films and knew he will over-deliver because of how passionate and focused he is about his work. So, when he called, I jumped”.
“My greatest hope is that this movie doesn’t only become big and sets a different (much more serious) tone about African cinema, but also become a reference point and a blueprint in movie production in Cameroon. To inspire many more upcoming movie producers, directors, actors etc. That is becomes a seed of hope to all Cameroonians and an element of pride as Cameroonians”.
